More Info

If you recently received a text message similar to one of the sample messages below, your school or district uses the SchoolMessenger Communicate notification system to deliver school alerts to families and staff members. You received one of these messages to notify you about opting in to text messages.

Some schools and districts choose to automatically opt in all contacts in their database for text message communications. Parents and staff from these schools and districts will see a message like this:

You're registered 4 SchoolMessenger. Txt STOP to quit, HELP for help. Std msg/data rates apply. Freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm

If you received this kind of message, you are already opted in to text messages from your school or district and no further steps are needed to sign up. If you are not interested in receiving text messages from your school or district, you can opt out at any time by texting STOP to your school's short code (in the U.S., use code 68453 or 67587; in Canada, use code 724665). Also, if you have questions about the opt-in policies of your child’s school or district, please contact school administrators directly.

Other schools and districts require people to respond to an opt-in text message if they want to receive further messages. Parents and staff from these schools and districts will see a message like this:

SpringfieldISD alerts. Reply Y to confirm, HELP 4 info. Std msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm

If you would like to continue receiving messages from your school or district, you must reply affirmatively with one of the opt-in key words. Simply reply to the original message (or send a text message to one of the following short codes) with either the words “opt in” or “subscribe.” In the U.S., use code 68453 or 67587, and in Canada, use code 724665. If you do not wish to receive any additional text messages, no further action is required.
